WATER QUALITY TESTING

Water quality testing is a common test for those concerned about the water coming out of their taps. It is most popular for those who have a well for their drinking water, but we often have requests from those that live right in the middle of subdivisions. The results can help identify the need for specialty filters, and or old lead supply piping.

This test is best performed in the morning by drawing the sample from the first flow of water first thing in the morning. This allows for more accurate readings of leaching lead from either the pipes or the copper pipe solder joints.

TESTING FEES
  • 1 Sample - $165
  • 2 Samples - $235

Two samples is recommended with the first being the first draw of water for the morning. The second sample is drawn after the water runs for 5 minutes. This allows for a comparison between the two results to see how different the water is when it is allowed to sit in the pipes and fixture overnight. If you are concerned about lead levels, then two samples are mandatory to draw your conclusions.
