Receptacle performance is only as good as the electrical and mechanical contact maintained with the blades of the attachment plug. The Daniel Woodhead SAFETY YELLOW Receptacle Tension Tester provides a simple, effective method of testing actual spring contact tension.

This device has been designed to minimum blade tolderances, with allowable margins indicating good performance on the part of your receptacle with most commercial plugs. ANY READING BY THIS INSRUMENT ABOVE 4OZ. INDICATES A SERVICEABLE RECEPTACLE, THAT ALL PLUGS WILL FIT WELL.

HOW TO USE:

The tester is fully insulated and may safely be inserted into an energized receptacle or cord connector.

To operate, set the black nylon pointers to the minimum ounce position, insert the tester in the receptacle, and remove slowly. THE POINTER WILL REMAIN AT THE MAXIMUM TENSIONS VALUE UNTIL MANUALLY RESET.

The round grounding blade may be used to test any general purpose receptacle or cord connector rated 15 or 20 Amps with a “U” blade grounding terminal. This includes NEMA Configurations 5-15A, 5-20A, 6-15A, 6-20A, 7-15A, 7-20A, 14-15A, 14-20A, 15-15A, and 15-20A.
