This tester is the newer model from Ideal SureTest that is needed to perform the majority of the battery of tests for the Electrical Outlet Efficiency Testing. If you have the older Ideal 61-152 ST-1D then count your blessings and there is no need to make the upgrade.

STRONG OPINION: The 61-155 is an inferior tool in a lot of ways (2005 info). The 61-165 is far superior to the 61-155 due to its design, faster response and incredible LCD display. There is some question as to the accuracy of the readings by industry professionals, but it is the best technology currently available. That being said I believe that it is a valid tool and the best one now available on the market. Don’t be surprised if Ideal sees the error of its ways and comes out with an even better model in the future.
