SEATTLE LIGHTING WEBSITE INFO
Q:  What is the issue with the Flush Mount fixture?

A:  We have identified a safety concern involving insulation on the socket wire which is degrading, allowing a short circuit to occur between the wire and the fixture's metal canopy. This presents a fire and electric shock hazard. This problem affects two models of DESIGN CLASSICS flush mounts sold between September 2008 and September 2009.
