JUNE 20, 2013 - What a great day June 20th turned out to be as the sun rose up over Rock Canyon in Provo, Utah to shine down upon the 2013 Utah County Association of Realtors’ Golf Tournament. UCAR Affiliates arrived early to get their equipment set up so that when the real estate industry golfers arrived it would be a glitch free event. I was assigned to be the action photographer and I captured 1,683 photos of the participants enjoying their day.

EDGE HOMES - This year's primary sponsor was EDGE HOMES. Their signature orange and white colors could be seen throughout the day at numerous locations on the golf course. Their headlining support helped to make this sold out event a huge success.

I was impressed with the incredible number of golfers and sponsors at the sold out event. Every hole featured a great sponsor with many fun games to play while waiting for your foursome’s turn to tee off from each hole. I watched golfers attempt to chip into a toilet, tee off super-sized marshmallows, and even lay down and get a deep tissue massage. The creativity of the hole sponsors was high and there was ample time for them to be able to mingle with the golfers and present their services.

The weather was perfect with a cool breeze and clear skies. The Riverside Country Club provided incredible scenic views with lots of water features and trees lining the fairways as it sprawled out 5 different directions from a central hub known as Caesar’s. Instead of a snack bar at Caesar’s we had a seasoned grill master that prepared gourmet hot dogs. Since I was a walking action photographer, I had really worked up an appetite when I came upon Caesar’s and I took my dog with cheese and JDawgs sauce... Mmmmm Yummy Good!

EVENT COORDINATOR - Stevan Davis of Axiom Financial worked hard to organize the event this year and he was a wonderful host before the shotgun start. Once the carts left the clubhouse he switched into “Pro Golfer” mode and his foursome was there to accomplish one thing... Total Domination!!! There were several very serious foursomes, but the majority of the participants were there for an enjoyable day of golf and socializing.

TOUR GUIDE BARBIE - Our “Tour Guide Barbie” for the event was Stephanie Vincent. Her role was to drive around in a golf cart, smile, and pass out UCAR provided Jamba Juice gift cards to those she deemed worthy of doing good. As the past UCAR President, Stephanie defined “Doing Good” in many different ways. For some, it was because they were overly happy. For others, it was because their foursome got their bums in gear and sped up their game play on any given hole to help keep the event moving along. For others it was because they were the only one in their foursome that didn’t ask her for a gift card. It seems that her reputation had preceded her. Gregarious with style best describes her personality, and Stephanie was perfect for the role and she lifted the spirits of all those she showered the gift cards upon... At-A-Girl Stephanie!

The Riverside Country Club buildings were first class in their elegance and feel. The views were spectacular and everything throughout made you feel special. Lunch was hosted out on the patio and featured chicken and a beef brisket that just melted in your mouth. I had to leave the event early to get an inspection done, so I haven’t yet learned who won the $250, if anyone won the Jeep hole in one prize, and what foursome took first place.
