AARON
NAME: Aaron

NUMBER: 5

POSITION: Center field, shortstop, pitcher.

YEARS PLAYING: 5

PREVIOUS TEAMS: Braves, Astros, Mets

FAVORITE MLB TEAM: Seattle Mariners -- because many of the best players in baseball have started in Seattle, they win games even though they have one of the smallest payrolls in MLB, with a big outfield they focus on playing the game correctly instead of simply building a team of home-run hitters, and they have the best complete player in baseball: Ichiro Suzuki.

FAVORITE MLB PLAYER: Ichiro Suzuki -- he's the best all-around player in baseball.  He's the best on-base hitter in baseball, he's fast and is a good base-stealer, he can track down anything in the outfield, he has a terrific arm that can hold runners even on a deep fly ball, he plays hard on every play the entire game, he doesn't whine or trash-talk he simply wins games.

Aaron is FLIPPING OUT!!! 5/13

GREATEST MOMENT IN BASEBALL: Watching our team develop this year and become a championship team.

MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT IN BASEBALL: When I had an easy pop-fly hit right to me, I didn't even have to move my feet, and I dropped the ball!

FAVORITE DREAM MOMENT IN BASEBALL: I like to hit, and I love to run the bases (stealing home for the winning run is something I've done a few times); but I think my dream moment would be 1 out, bottom of the 9th, I'm in center field with the bases loaded, the tying run on 3rd base . . . I catch a deep fly and gun down the runner at home plate for the game winning 3rd out!

HOBBIES: Football, Baseball, Gymnastics, Rock Climbing, Back-Packing, Video Games

FAVORITE ICE CREAM: Baskin and Robbins' Gold Medal Ribbon

FUTURE CAREER: I want to be a dentist and be in practice with all of my brothers.

How has playing baseball made you a better person? It's taught me to be a good sport, to deal with frustrations and disappointments (as well as success) with dignity, it has helped me to know how to part of a team.

What is the most challenging part about playing baseball? The mental part of the game . . . baseball is a lot more complicated than it seems; knowing how to make correct decisions quickly, dealing with pressure in tense situations, and how to mentally stay in the game even when we are down, these are what make baseball challenging.

What is the best thing a coach has either told you or said about you? I once had a coach tell me I was the funnest player he ever coached.

What other information would you like to share about yourself?

FROM Aaron's DAD:  Aaron is fun-loving, and loves sports.  While competitive, he is a good friend and cares about team-mates.  When he was younger, Aaron was an all-around state gymnastics champion, scoring a perfect 10 on the rings!  He loves football and played quarterback for LakeRidge Jr. High last year.  He recently won the offensive MVP trophy and took his team to a championship at BYU football camp this summer.

No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games.  No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games.  It's the other third that makes the difference.  ~Tommy Lasorda
