3D SUBFORM KEY

PLEASE NOTE:As you start to use my custom residential form sets it will quickly boggle your mind how many Forms, Subforms, and Sub-Subforms are involved. It may leave you asking yourself why it is so complicated. Here is the reason why..... Subforms allow you to make changes to the reportable comments in one location and it will then become a part of every Form Set that contains the particular subform.

For example: Let's say that you want to make a change to the Door comments. Stop and think about how many times the Door Condition subheading is used within each residential report........ Let's see..... Front Porch, Rear Patio, Garage, Living Room, Family Room, Dining Room, each Bathroom, each Bedroom, and every other interior room. Who wants to add the additional comments to 20 different sections of the report forms??? The same thing applies to Windows, Outlets, Lights etc. This is where Subforms ease the process. It allows you to make the new comments at one or two locations within the Subforms and Sub-Subforms and then they will be dispersed throughout the report and throughout each report Form Set.

The following is a key of the different Subforms and Sub-Subforms. This key will quickly allow you to determine which Subform should be opened to make the needed changes.

SUBFORMS - Subforms start with the letter "Y". They are generally major components, rooms, and major report sections.

SUB-SUBFORMS - Sub-subforms start with the letter "Z". Sub-subforms are the smaller components that make up rooms such as doors, windows and electrical outlets.

MAKING COMMENT CHANGES: In order to make changes you must go into the Report Writer and click on FILE, then CUSTOM FORM STUDIO. Once this opens up click on FILE, then OPEN and scroll to the Subform or Sub-Subform that you want to make changes in. Make the changes and then save it. Before the changes take place within your reports it is necessary to compile the individual report for sets

COMPILING FORM SETS: To compile a form set you must be in the Custom Form Studio. Click on FILE, then COMPILE FORM GROUPS. Once there you must select which form set you want to compile and then simply highlight the form set and click on COMPILE. This will take a minute or so and this makes the changes you have made take effect on any new reports that you create.
