Meth Hazard Screen inspections are recommended for all structures in Utah. The entity that owns the property when the contamination is discovered is responsible for decontamination. It is not just the abused clandestine meth lab houses that are at risk. Recreational smoking of meth easily puts the home over the decontamination threshold.
PURPOSE OF THE METH HAZARD SCREEN INSPECTION
We will perform a limited meth hazard screen inspection that will include looking over the property for visible evidences consistent with meth use and production, and we will sample for meth.
The full Meth Hazard Screen consists of:
- 1) An evaluation of the conditions of the interior and exterior of the home.
- 2) A 1 to 4 location composite sample will be taken on the interior of the home.
- 3) Interpretation of the lab results.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
This meth hazard screen inspection requires a small amount of disassembly of components to attempt to get samples where superficial cleaning has not been attempted. This may include exhaust fans, furnace ducts, and return air grilles. WE CANNOT AND DO NOT IN ANY WAY REPRESENT OR GUARANTEE THAT THE PREMISES ARE COMPLETELY METH FREE. The best we can do is identify evidences, take good samples according to the most modern protocols, and rely upon the laboratory for accurate analysis.
Detached buildings are not inspected sampled unless specifically requested and an additional fee is paid. Neither Michael Leavitt & Co Inspections, Inc. nor its employees or agents shall be liable under any claim, charge or damage of any kind arising out of , connected with resulting from, or sustained as a result of the later identification of meth contamination. Our liability is limited to the fee for the original screening, minus the lab fees. Claims must be made in writing within 6 months of the original sampling inspection and before any repair work is undertaken. |
